Sin After Sin is the third studio album of British hevay metal band Judas Priest. It was released in April 1977 under the Columbia Records (CBS) label, after the release of two singles, Dissident Aggressor and Diamonds & Rust.

Following the critical acclaim generated by 1976's Sad Wings of Destiny, Columbia Records became interested in Judas Priest, who had been under the production of Gull Records until then. After a record proposition, Judas Priest relinquished its author rights to Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings of Destiny to Gull Records and joined CBS, mostly because Gull poorly supported the band and could not provide the necessary advertisement to gain the band attention.

Soon after the move, drummer Alan Moore left the band before recording sessions, and Judas Priest hired reputed session drummer Simon Phillips to record the album. It was produced by ex-Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover.

Sin After Sin shows a change in direction for the band. The blues-influenced sound that dominated their first album and a large portion of their second seemed to have mostly disappeared, save for a few exceptions such as the ballad "Last Rose of Summer". The progressed towards a heavier sound, which would be the base of their signature style throughout their commercial era. Songs like "Sinner" and "Dissident Aggressor" were notably some of the heaviest music of that time, and would be influences for the entire metal genre, especially during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Movement. The Joan Baez cover of "Diamonds & Rust" was originally to be omitted by the band, once again after it was omitted from their last album, but the band was convinced by Glover, who said "[i]t would fit along with the rest of the album better."

After the album's release, they hired drummer Les Binks as their new permanent drummer. The Sin After Sin Tour was Priest's first US tour.

During Priest's 2008 Nostradamus tour, they played many songs from Sin After Sin and some were featured on the live album A Touch of Evil: Live. Notably, their performance of "Dissident Aggressor" earned the the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2010.
